Managers' Development Discussion Thread - Club Makeovers
This is one of a group of threads inviting discussion from all managers about the proposals for developing various parts of Itsagoal.

It is important to realize that although each of the proposals has been formulated after much thought and discussion, none of them is set in stone. The members of the Think Tank have done their best to consider topics from all angles, but do not claim to have thought of absolutely everything.

This is therefore the chance for everyone to get involved with discussion. Please therefore read through the proposals, and make your comments.

For this process to be both useful and manageable, please do not stray from the topic being discussed. Threads will be closely moderated to keep them relevant.

We expect there to be differences of opinion, and would encourage all managers to engage in positive discussion. In the end, Itsagoal is Ron's game, and he will make the final decisions, but we want to hear from you first!

Club Makeovers

1 - The initial reset for manager vacancies will be as minimal as possible with only critical issues addressed: where addressed the benefits will be mitigated in some way. The vacancy will last for n days but the club will remain in this state until the 2nd reset. The point here is NOT to weaken the club or to strengthen it, but to offer it as far as possible as it had been, but to make it playable, too. Sometimes that may mean the club gets a small boost other times it may not. If the club has good or great players it will keep them except in extreme circumstances.

2 - Resets (the 2nd reset) for new managers will be comprehensive, with a 12th position average. The reset will be performed nearer the time a real manager will be allocated to the club. This is so that the club continues to play to a similar standard as it was left by the outgoing manager. The Youth Academy will be closed, but the club will be solvent and have some cash to spend. The squad will have a balanced range of players in terms of age and quality. That may also include the odd great player if it's appropriate for the division it is in.

3 - New managers will be channeled into the "bottom" division of each league. This will allow them the best opportunity to grow their club, enjoy a better chance of picking up silverware and learning their way round the game. Some fully reset clubs ( i.e. those that have had a 2nd reset ) perhaps from higher divisions will also popup on manager vacancies, for existing managers who fancy a change to apply for them. These clubs will be similar to clubs that are reset now; overall they may well have been improved by the reset process, but they will be balanced in terms of player quality and not be significantly strong in terms of the division they are in.

Its probably worth saying that the intention was never to make a reset club stronger than average for the division it was in, the fact that that does happen sometimes is not what was wanted when the game was created.

Improved Games Changes & Cosmetic changes

-maybe way to much to ask- maybe not over a few seasons- idk how coding works, but I can assume some cosmetics would be really simples for a coder anyways.

-Cut down to 8 leagues (Game Improvement)

-Remove the IAG Cup and merge to the Highest tier Inter-Cup....
-removes the Inter cups for lower league teams - and make the intercups for premiership teams The IAG Super Cup & then Platinum Cup
(game improvement)(8 leagues top 4 and 5th to 8th qaulify) keep prize money same for both comps but the IAGG Super Cup Is now qualified by top 4
and the Platinum cup for premiership teams finishing 5th to 8th) So it will still be 8m winners and 3m winners but they'll be a difference in prizes.
because of this they could be groups and R16/QF/SF/F all home n away then neutral or just neutral from R16 to the final/ with 1
less knockout comp there's less fixtures in a season for all clubs and missing from those that don't qualify.
So making more rounds could be okay home/away legs.? the groups should be home/away games.

(I also understand that managers/players would have to be able to hand pick which league the're moved to, to prevent 1st & 2nd teams clashing)
to prevent manager numbers falling, as well as reshuffling the leagues so that higher rated teams get prem/champ and so on.
if for some reason the game gets popular then add divisions but don't mess with the 8x4 super cup /platinum cup/

-Lower leagues should have 2 auto promotions with 3rd to 6th fight playoffs(game improvement)
rebuilt a team finished 6th but you believe you have the best team in the league, well you have a chance
of promotion also adds excitement especially with league pay-jumps, maybe your the underdogs but theres not much
difference in quality, you can do it!!

Aka-
Prem = doubled
Champ = same
League 1 = halfed
League 2 = Quater
Conf = Quarter

to stop people avoiding promotion and ruining the competativeness of the game. higher up teams get better sponser and prizes...ETC
and you really don't need a lot of money in lower leagues especially with the new YA.

-allow us to make live substuttions/ as well as tactical changes if its do-able, while still having option to have random subs at 45/60/70 mins etc.
-better matchday screen, posibly 1 screen where u can see pitch layout and another screen you can see players, and their form, match fitness and fatigue
as its annoying having to click on players fitness then back to selection bit to make sure you resting the most fatigued players.

-un-managed teams should be managed better- I notive a lot of high pot players unchanged over a course of time so what are the coaches doing?
each un-managed team should have every player on a balanced schedule so they get a bit of everything through the week. ( even if bad coaches )
they will still have better avgs and set a decent pacemaker for new managers that get dealt a bad squad.
maybe even have A Fake Managers Name instead of ( Vacant- Caretaker )

also any new managers could still take over lower league teams where it would mainly be un-managed teams ( with the new structure of prizes I doupt anyone
would stay there, but for beginners to play on easy mode it might be good training ground )


-Cosmetic changes-

- Fake year instead of season, examlpe have the year(instead of season) is 1981(example) then each season after the (season) a year goes up instead 1982 1983 etc etc/
maybe it could be 50-100 years in the past to start or even 50-100 years into the future ? ?
- revert back to fake league names and just have divisions prem/champ/L1/L2/Conf in every league, lessons confusion
however 8 euro leagues would also be good, top 8 England, Spain, Germany, France, Holland, Portugal, Greece ( would be good options )
then giving the cups a european cups vibe.

I understand that's a bit messy, but it is kind of rushed and each idea is just an idea that of course I feel like may not be perfect but can be tweaked.
