Just a season and a half. Was a strange one actually he joined the academy at 17, but was there for a season and a half before he auto promoted. I assumed as he was 17 when he joined he would not be in there for more than one season. So not sure what happened there.

That's very odd. Surely that means he remained in the YA beyond his 18th birthday!

I promoted 2 youth midfielders, signed a young midfielder & an experienced midfielder in the time since my last post, so I am up to 8 midfielders again, which was my major concern last time around (I only had 5, with one retiring back then).

My youth academy is up to 7 players...

GK aged 15 & 74 rated (regularly increasing)
FW aged 17 & 50 rated (still the same rubbish player I reported last time).
MF aged 17 & 94 rated (one of his attributes is at 99 & no movement for 3 weeks now)
FW aged 15 & 77 rated (regularly increasing)
DF aged 15 & 62 rated (doing ok)
MF aged 16 & 92 rated (recent acquisition & no movement)
GK aged 17 & 79 rated (recent acquisition & no movement)

I am still not counting on any players above 80 rated promoting for me, but that's fine, I have most positions covered in my first & reserve team. I have made good use of the academy in recent months, so much so, that only a handful of my pro players have a transfer fee against their name. This has enabled me to reduce my wage bill massively in the last 3 seasons to about 55% of what it was in season 38, whilst continuing to remain competitive in the English premiership, which is certainly gaining stronger sides now.

Can you remember if you renewed his contract at all?

Yes I renewed it. When he joined the academy at 17 i was keeping an eye on him waiting for him to either leave or sign up. As his contact started ticking down I was waiting for him to turn 18. Then to my surprise I had to renew his contract, after renewal he stayed on for another roughly 20 days.

My 97 rated CB joined Super Smash BroS, His buds joined he wanted to join the class of 41

My YA has weakened though as finding replacements for 90+ is hard, although some have improved from 70+ to 90+ and my GK who is now rated 97 started as a 15 year old rated 59.

and I had this player started rating of 67, and has only improved to 73 in about a season and a half, so you just never know how they will develop. I feel I got unlucky at the start and then got instant balance by getting extremely lucky, maybe will hit somewhere in-between now

but as of now, I kind of know where to have my standards, before I was just happy to get better youths than what was available before, guess you could say I was a bit premature with some players. enough rambling anyways, great signing with weatherwax, all 80s

He look like a decent player. I'm sure he will be up against my forwards in a few seasons time!

Lost a 78 rated striker today, another burger flipper.

My 2nd team promoted an 84 rated keeper.

just clicked the button on a 92 rated 17 year old that has been with the club since they were 15. see what tomorrow brings

How does youth academy rating work?

I have a player rated 99, with 99,99,99 attributes.. is this the maximum? or could he go 100,100,100?

and also does once 1 attribute hits 99 or 100? does this mean he can't improve anymore?

so the real question is? if a player maxes out? is there any point in keeping them until they are 18?

Not sure about the first one, don't see why not.

When one attribute hits 100 I'm pretty sure that that is it.

The only reason to keep the player to 18 is to maximise their time in the academy to increase their promotion chances. I would only do this if they hadn't been in the academy very long.

Hmm perhaps I should have said when 1 attribute hits it's max.

I can't recall whether I have had a youth hit 100 in 1 attribute or not
