I am awaiting the update with bated breath to see if my midfielder will promote, so I have space for the 49/50/51 14 year old my scouts have just found...

So my 97 rated youth striker has just promoted into my team aged 16.

Fixed stats all in the 90's so happy with that!

May cash him in this season, the way the prices are it could be a huge fee!

One of my youths had an update from the coaches yesterday.

* He's reached his peak, they said...
* We think it's time he moved on, they said...

So I thought about that statement and decided to leave him alone and he improved 4 rating points at this update!

I decided to promote the lad. Welcoming Alan Goldsmith... a lad who has been with us about 5 seasons and was 94 rated as of the update.

I picked a guy with balanced atts from maybe 13-15 years old, hardly developed? turned 17 and i renewed his contract because I just promoted a few youths, think he was rated like 50-60 ish and I just tgought wow this guy just chose not to develop much then? his now 100/100 and I wait for him to turn 18

I hope he joins.

Lucky once again. One day I will find my star player from my YA.

Although to be fair I do for once have a few prospects, got a 15 year old who has just moved up to 81 rated and even more interestingly I have a 12 year old who is rated 58! That is some 12 year old! I just hope he progresses and is worth the wait.

you have to remember I changed my youth tactics as soon as the tweak come in,

I adjusted the minute I felt like I needed to adjust, yeah I have had a few players that won't make the the team long term, and I get youth less frequently, but I get on avg better youths,

I am glad you have altered your YA strategy/ just as I am altering my transfer strategy, to hopefully be more competitive in a few seasons time.

For me this is right way(13-15 yrs old)

How do I get a player in my youth academy?

There's a description at the bottom of this page but in short:

Recruit a youth coach and some scouts

Send the scouts out to look for youths

When the scouts come back, offer the ones you like a contract, or send them out again

Don't just grab the first ones you see as the quality varies wildly. Might be worth having a few searches first to see the range.
