Match Highlights

Altostone City v Bulletboys - Season 6 Match 3
Minute Highlight
1 Walter Tarrant(AC) was lucky that the ref didn't realise that he was the last man, otherwise he would have gone, as it was the ref showed him the yellow card.
4 Darren Marshall(BUL) was booked after clashing with Garry Gibbens(AC). The decision looked harsh, with the Altostone City man equally at fault.
20 Darren Marshall(BUL) broke down the left and his cross was put in off the post first-time by Stephen Cole(BUL).
21 It looks like Robert Royce(AC) has just talked his way into the book.
28 Following a bad clearance from keeper Andrew Barton(BUL) the ball fell for Matt Ferdinand(AC), who brought it forward before unleashing a goalbound shot that the keeper tipped around the post as an act of redemption.
31 Bulletboys broke through again when Darren Marshall(BUL) raced up on the right of the pitch, his cross flashed accross goal before being steered in by Noel Kelly(BUL).
35 Stephen Cole(BUL) was lucky to stay on the pitch after a dreadful late tackle which saw him booked.
37 Robert Royce(AC) made a fine surging run for Altostone City and his delicate chip went inches over the bar.
47 Some clever play from Darren Marshall(BUL) took him clear of a trailing Steven Jeffers(AC) down the right flank but his resultant shot whistled inches wide.
48 Les Scott(AC) had to come off as a result of a knock.
49 Andrew Brown(AC) was switched for Les Scott(AC).
51 Steven Jeffers(AC) floated over a free-kick, which deceived the Bulletboys defence and fell to Jamie Goldsmith(AC). he miscued his shot, but it rebounded perfectly for Robert Royce(AC), who cracked it home from close range.
55 Iain Pressman(BUL) took out Robert Royce(AC) with an ugly foul. The referee had strong words and showed him the yellow card.
75 Ali Unsworth(AC) was booked after clashing with Noel Kelly(BUL). The decision looked harsh, with the Bulletboys man equally at fault.

Match reports were before I joined but they would be great to see in this game again.

It makes you believe that there is a an actual match simulation going on behind the scenes.

I miss the original IAG1 game. Such a easy game to get on with, I always thought it was a shame they couldn't run both versions of the game side by side. I still think that version holds up well against other games.

I remember the thread where people used to write their own match reports...what version was that?

That was the prior version to this one with the old world names. I was in Axe (which merged with Anubis) later known as Axis.

There was a thread called News of the World's I believe, where those interested, posted reports on matches...

The original game IAGv1 (where you could have multiple teams as long as they weren't in the same division, of which there were 500+) had several thousand players I believe.

When IAGv2 came out around 2006, this was the one with the world names and about 20 worlds were created, each with 100 teams, so we had 2000 people join from the old game, but due to the complexity of v2, it quickly lost a lot of people who just simply didn't like the new format and/or struggled to understand how to play it.

IAGv3 is what we have now and the majority of those that remain, have invested a lot of time in it, but we are a significant minority of the number of past players who played.

I have surpassed 20 years playing this game this year, but I think there are a handful who have played longer...

I think it must have been IAGv2 as I definitely wasn't playing 20 years ago, and I remember the number of managers crossing the 1,000 mark (in the wrong direction )
